Linda's perfect world came crashing down when her 24 year-old son suddenly died in 2010. She struggled to find her way out of severe depression, anxiety and difficulty functioning in her daily life. As a bereaved mother, she searched for help through The Compassionate Friends, counselors and books. She eventually found her way to what would become her "new normal." Linda wrote this book to help ease the path for others going through a similar tragedy. She has stayed involved with The Compassionate Friends and has been the facilitator for her local chapter for the past five years.
A USC graduate and retired occupational therapist, she enjoys her new role as grandmother to two beautiful little girls. In her spare time she raises and trains assistance dogs for the disabled and visits hospital patients with her golden retriever. She and her husband live in Southern California.
